Course Objective:
This course is designed to improve the knowledge of the producer to better understand the requirement of getting continuing education, violations of the insurance regulations and types of insurers in the marketplace. This material will cover the start of insurance, its introduction into the United States, the development regulations and change in policy forms from the 165 Line Standard Fire Policy of 1943 to dwelling and homeowners’ forms developed by Insurance Service Office in the 1950s. The material will cover key terms and concepts that related to the property insurance business. In the chapter on dwellings, the key coverage and exclusions are cover. Our last chapter on homeowners looks at the various forms covering homes, apartment dwellers and condo owners. We cover the various levels of coverage from Fire, Lightning and Explosion, the extended coverages, named perils, then to broad form and finally open perils.
